That’s the best way I can explain it — this weird hum beaneath everything. Just enough to feel but barely enough to hear. Not loud enough to be a crisis, but also not soft enough to be peace. Just … here. Just sitting. I open blank pages, stare at blinking cursors, tell myself I should be writing something, anything, because isn’t that what I’m supposed to do? Isn’t that what people who care about words do? But lately, nothing I try to say feels worth saying. Not because it’s all meaningless — I don’t think I believe that. But because none of it feels … I don’t know. Every thought is either too soft or too scattered. Too personal or not personal enough. Too dramatic. Too boring. Too done before. I keep thinking but maybe I’m just trying to force. And I love words. God, I love words. I write things down constantly. I underline phrases in books like they’re lifelines.
