Modern dating is broken— and it’s an important problem to fix, posterity kinda depends on it. Astoundingly, most Americans (try to) meet new potential partners on dating apps. However, it’s a terrible experience for virtually anyone outside of the top decile of “attractiveness” as likes (and inferentially matches) fall into a Pareto distribution (i.e. majority of likes go to a small group of daters). Romantic love is, of course, a very primal need for humans and the disconnect between that need and the lack of efficacy of existing online dating platforms presents a big opportunity to use new means (i.e. new technologies) to solve this culprit in the raging loneliness epidemic.
