Rotor syndrome (also known as Rotor hyperbilirubinemia) is a rare cause of mixed direct (conjugated) and indirect (nonconjugated) hyperbilirubinemia, primarily due to chronic elevation of conjugated bilirubin. It is a relatively benign autosomal recessive bilirubin disorder characterized by hemolytic jaundice. Rotor hyperbilirubinemia is a distinct but similar disorder to Duvin-Johnson syndrome, both of which cause an increase in conjugated bilirubin.
