it's time to let go of this endless summer afternoon
these days, i don’t really have time for poetry. everything is about progress and functionality and survival mode, because i’m hanging on by a thread and trying to cram for my three midterms next week.2 august feels far away not only because i am literally writing this on the penultimate day of september, but also because i think i’ve had some pretty fundamental shifts on what i really value. girlhood as a concept has been something that i’ve felt consistently conflicted with, but i’ve come around to embracing it more, not least of all in thanks to our lord and saviour charli xcx and the Brat literature canon. girl, so confusing featuring lorde has changed my brain chemistry and fixed n>1 of my female friendships so i can safely say that i am a changed woman (most of the time). i know all of these words combined would kill a victorian child but brat summer is about the dgaf culture and i am here for it (mostly).3 august felt like a whirlwind. my discontent with my summer research came
