How to reach out to people when you're tired and busy and distracted
If you’re an actor in NYC, networking can feel like a vicious and performative game of social climbing. If you try to approach important people through official channels you’ll be one of the 100 singing, dancing, hot people trying to barge into the same inbox. (Turns out this is true for other industries too but with less hot people.) But one time I met a woman on the subway and we were carrying the same book (Andrew Lloyd Webber’s memoir).
