Hey fellow redditors! I'm an MD student in psychiatry, and I've been diving deep into my studies lately. I've become intrigued by the "second brain" concept and I'm looking to build one for my postgrad studies. I've been using OneNote, but it's just not cutting it when it comes to organization and finding my notes. I've tried RemNote and Mem, but they're not quite right for me either. I usually work best with mind maps for planning and note-taking, which led me to discover Obsidian and Heptabase. After watching some videos (shoutout to Tiago Forte), I feel like these two apps might be what I need. Obsidian isn't explicitly designed for mind maps, but I've heard it has a "canvas view" that could be helpful. Heptabase's intro video really resonated with me, but Obsidian seems a bit more complex at first glance. If Obsidian is better suited for my needs, I'm willing to invest some time in learning it.
