/r/askphilosophy aims to provide serious, well-researched answers to philosophical questions. Don't get me wrong, I'm a history and philosophy student but sometimes I can't keep myself from thinking 'was this dude high or...' because sometimes the things they wrote or said are so meta and so far fetched i can't even get my head around the train of thoughts they have written down. So I thought there maybe were philosophers that actually philosophised on drugs? Walter Benjamin wrote a book on hashish. Aldous Huxely probably did every drug on the planet, twice. Guy Debord drank something like a liter of vodka everyday of his life. I remember hearing about a Dadaist who got hired to give a lecture on Dada so he got blackout drunk before the show, rambled incoherently for a short while, vomited, and passed out.
