Molly’s story could have easily taken place in more socially conservative 1890s’ St Petersburg, Paris or Berlin with almost no changes. She was a mentally ill poet. I suppose if Tyler’s version of social conservatism means women shouldn’t be taught to read and write he may have a point. What a shallow response.
