Anterior Cruciate Ligament injuries: Stories, Tips, and Advice for recovery Hey all! This is my first Reddit post and I’m not sure if this will reach anyone, but I just wanted to share my story in hopes that it will help someone who’s currently struggling, especially those who are athletes or are in high school. I’m not sure if anyone can relate to this, but I feel like I almost saw my ACL tear coming? I had premonitions about it just minutes before, so that has to count for something. I’ll be completely honest with you, tearing my ACL is THE BEST THING that’s ever happened to me. What happened to me was basically a freak accident. I was playing volleyball, and was just running after a ball when it felt like someone kicked me in the back of the knee and I fell to the ground. I didn’t twist it or anything out of the ordinary, it just gave out.
