It has never been easier to be better than average

This post on Reddit is one of my favorite things I’ve come across in a while. With nearly 50,000 upvotes at the time of writing this, the person is too scared to enter his room. Why? Because he is afraid of balloons, and right now there is a balloon on his bed. This is not to make fun of people with phobias. They are, by definition, irrational. This is only to point out that, of all of the possible solutions this person could have taken, he decided the best solution was to take a picture of the balloon and post it on Reddit. Let’s put a pin in this for a second. ChatGPT did some update to their language models, and everybody decided to remix their photos using a studio Ghibli aesthetic. Hell, I even decided to hop on the bandwagon, posting a picture of myself with the filter.
