A few years ago, I went through a process where the junior people in our company provided feedback to the senior leaders. I prided myself on both my management abilities and my openness to feedback, but when I read the feedback (some positive, some constructive), I immediately became defensive, angry and then, dismissive. What riled me up even more was that the feedback was anonymous - none of the team members said the feedback to my face, which seemed to make it so much worse.
