With all the trials and errors, we ultimately lost Bella as her health deteriorated and death came knocking at the door. What made this experience a heartbreaking one wasn’t the death itself. It’s the fact that we unknowingly worsened Bella’s condition, per vets’ orders, and lost the time we could have used to properly heal her. Below is a letter I wrote the day after her death to cope with the loss. I learned a lot from Bella’s death, and I’m sharing this letter to provide some background information.
