takeagander | Project - Found Notes
Found Notes is a collaborative project between myself and local designer, illustrator and musician David Evans. Since 1993, with occasional breaks, David has kept a keen eye out for attractive, humorous, unusual and often bizarre notes which people have dropped in the streets. When he showed me the boxes and envelopes stuffed with what he'd found, we knew there was a project just waiting to be fulfilled. What you see here is just the start of my work to document these scraps in much the same way I documented the ceramic fragments in my Skip Art project - looking at them as 'finds' to be featured in a museum or art gallery. Using a bespoke lighting technique I have tried as far as possible to represent not only each note's message, but also the trauma it has been subjected to once discarded. Images with sequenced titles, such as the Life, Love, Future set, are related and I've photographed them front and back, creating a series of related images. Other single notes have been photographe
