When I say can't swim, I really mean. I can't tread water/float and can't take more than a stroke or two before sticking my feet to the bottom of the pool. I've never allowed myself to be in water taller than me without a life vest. I don't know why my parents never taught me to swim. I'm pretty sure they can both swim, yet neither me nor my sister have the skills. I grew up avoiding swim days at school, going to the lake, water sports, etc.. I convinced myself that I wouldn't like swimming anyway. I also convinced myself that I didn't need to learn to swim, because wearing a life vest is just as good because it takes all (or most) of the danger out of swimming. As time is going on I'm re
