A few weeks ago I wrote How decentralized is Bluesky really?, a blogpost which received far more attention than I expected on the fediverse and Bluesky both. Thankfully, the blogpost was received well generally, including by Bluesky's team. Bryan Newbold, core Bluesky engineer, wrote a thoughtful response article: Reply on Bluesky and Decentralization, which I consider worth reading. I have meant to reply for a bit, but life has been busy. We launched a fundraising campaign over at Spritely and while I consider it important to shake out the topics in this blog series, that work has taken priority. So it is about a week and a half later than I would like, but here are my final thoughts (for my blog at least) on Bluesky and decentralization.
