The University College London campus was shut down, but Lebedeva received special permission to continue a unique set of experiments. Prior to the pandemic, she had implanted mice with Neuropixels 2.0 probes, the latest iteration of a high-density silicon electrode capable of recording from hundreds of neurons simultaneously.
