I’m in my last semester of undergrad; I’ll graduate with a degree in philosophy from UC Berkeley in May 2026. I’m currently taking five philosophy courses: on probability theory and inductive reasoning; on intermediate formal logic; a survey of theories of ethics; on metaphysics; and, a required, lower-division course on the history of philosophy after the ancients up to ~1900. I’m also advising for the UC Berkeley effective altruism club. Last updated: Q1 2026 There are some natural joints along which my internal narrative carves the last few years of my life: The 2022–23 academic year: after graduating high school, I went to Brandeis to study philosophy, and started organizing for the Brandeis effective altruism club. From May 2023 – August 2024: I took a full academic year off college. Most of my time was spent working, the rest traveling — this post goes into more detail. Also during this year off, I applied (2023 fall), and was accepted (2024 spring), to transfer to UC Berkeley. F
