Skip to main content Google Chrome Help Help Center Community Google Chrome Back Jim L 6140 Original Poster Jan 28, 2025 Google Chrome is using a lot memory (RAM) Chrome often uses more than 60% of the available memory (RAM) on my Windows computer and has many instances open (per Task Manager Processes screen) each using up memory. The high memory utilization is slowing down my computer. Sometimes I see more than 50 instances of Chrome even though I just booted up my computer and only opened several tabs in Chrome. Any help on this issue will be greatly appreciated. Details Crashes and Slow Performance , Windows , Stable (Default) Locked Informational notification.
