The deadline for all grants has been extended to Sunday, February 19 at 11:59pm! There are three categories of grants to which students can apply: Ethnicity, Migration, Rights; Latinx Studies; and Asian American and/or Pacific Islander Studies. Projects that are eligible for multiple grant categories can submit multiple applications. (A project will only receive funding from one EMR-based funding source.) Each grant will provide up to $2,500 in summer thesis research funding and can be combined with other summer thesis funding sources. Grant recipients will be assigned graduate student mentors who work with thesis writers through the summer and senior year, until theses are submitted. Candidates apply through the CARAT system to submit: The online CARAT form (including project description and full budget). A written project proposal of 750 words max, describing their topic, methods, and preparation. A brief biblilography with at least five sample sources. A one-page resume (PDF). A current transcript (PDF, unofficial is ok). One letter of recommendation from an advisor or mentor who will play a supporting role in the project. This does not have to be the thesis advisor.
