One of the largest improvements I’ve made over the past year is to not get defeated by my anxiety. Up until my senior year of college, anxiety had been a big motivator for me. I’d worry about people being better than me or not being good enough or not getting prestigious awards, and that frenetic energy would serve as motivation. Senior year of college, I got severely depressed and was no longer able to turn my worries into motivation. The past year has been a long, hard-earned journey in being more chill, but of course, I’m still pretty anxious and insecure. One of my deepest insecurities is that I am actually an incompetent fraud who conned my way into Harvard and into finance.
