For some of us, there may soon come a future where artificial intelligence can do the work we've spent years learning to do. And for those of us, there is a question we must ask ourselves. What if we no longer find meaning through our work? What of us remains? One of the first questions we're asked as children is, "What do you want to be when you grow up?" We aren't usually asked what kind of person we hope to become or what sort of life we hope to live. Years later, one of the first questions we ask a stranger is, "What do you do?"
