We introduced Notion AI two weeks before ChatGPT 3 exploded on the scene and upended, well, everything. In the months that followed, while other companies put out press releases with screenshots of products that might exist someday, Notion had a real product that people could use right away. But the sprint to get to market first required some tradeoffs, and we learned a lot along the way. Here’s a look at our evolving go-to-market strategies for Notion AI — what we got right, what we got wrong, and some hard-won wisdom we earned in the process.
