Welcome to my first blog post! I plan to use this blog to share my thoughts about whatever topics come to mind, technical or non-technical. I hope you enjoy! For almost my entire life, the idea of “specialization” has been instilled in me: I was frequently told to find something I really enjoy and invest every single fiber of my being into becoming the best at it. As time progresses, this philosophy only continues to become more pervasive: more and more children and young adults are honing in on highly specific niches, ranging from fields of research to specific career paths. While I did pursue my passions in STEM fields like physics, computer science, and mathematics from an early age, I did not specialize nearly to this extent while growing up. As such, I’ve recently been thinking a lot about what level of specialization is “optimal”.
