tldr; we got accepted into an accelerator program that advised us to hit the fundraising circuit after our time in the program. we were raising on some research and a vision. we were ultimately unsuccessful. now we're raising on a product and a waitlist of people who want to use it. it's going much better... we were accepted into the betaworks accelerator program in June of 2023. they liked our approach over others because it was "ai-native". we spent the 3 months in the program validating our approach and writing a paper about it. our paper showed rough evidence for our approach working and how extensive our vision for this future was. we didn't *need* to raise money after the program, but we were advised to try anyways. "test the market" they said. they didn't know, told us there was only one way to find out. they thought we might be able to raise on our research and vision. was that true? maybe, depends on how you look at it. nonetheless, our pitch for funding was to productize the
