In December 2019, Fifteen Cornwall shut its doors for the last time, closing out almost 14 years of exceptional hospitality and support for young people. Fifteen Cornwall’s story began in 2002 when Jamie Oliver launched Fifteen in London and filled the kitchen with unqualified young people in need of a second chance. Nobody believed it was possible, but Jamie held the firm belief that you can teach anyone to cook and it has the power to help people change their lives in the process. Watching the story play out on TV, local councillor Betty Hale decided young people in Cornwall needed the same opportunities and set about trying to make it happen.
