Biotech VC often requires at least a PhD and 5-10 years of industry experience. If you’re very early into a biotech career, here’s how you can get your foot in: Build something of value By build, I don’t mean a billion dollar biotech company, I would actually recommend not to if your goal is to get into VC (build a company because you think you are the best person to do it). Try building something that could yield immense value in one or all three ways that VCs care about: 1) connecting others to opportunities/jobs 2) creating network effects within your own network 3) access to high potential individuals + ability to pool knowledge Build something you want to see happen. Is there no community in xyz field? Go build that company, raise some money to support events or other things related to that project. Is no one talking about this area? Or not addressing this need?
