Induction heating is the phenomenon by which eddy currents formed in an electrically conductive material through Faraday's Law of Induction heat the object. To take advantage of this effect, an induction heater passes an AC current through an electromagnet in order to produce a rapidly changing magnetic field. This induces a current in the workpiece which rises in temperature due to resistive and possibly hysteretic heating.
