Many artificial-intelligence experts have touted AI’s groundbreaking potential to help people become way more efficient at their jobs, and a lot of educators have been trying it out for themselves. Sixty percent of teachers said they’ve used ChatGPT—an AI-powered tool that can instantly answer seemingly any prompt—in their jobs, according to a nationally representative Walton Family Foundation survey conducted in June and July. Of course, there are potential downsides to the new technology. It can produce inaccurate or biased responses based on faulty data it draws from, and it has the potential to cause huge data privacy problems.
