"Baghdad is an Idea" by Samar Al-Khudhairi (2017)
presents a series of portals to Baghdad, Iraq through sound, film and physical objects. Connecting traditional oral history with modern day sharing of impermanent visual narratives on social media, the work attempts to make sense of the often mis-perceived physical place and conceptual space of Iraq.
