People really hate vegans and vegetarians. In one study , participants reported disliking vegans and vegetarians more than immigrants and atheists; only drug addicts were more disliked than vegans. And yet, in a survey published by Sentience Institute, in the same year and with a similar sample, 54% of US adults said they were trying to consume fewer animal products and 33% supported a ban on animal farming , which would kind of make everyone vegetarian.
