Ah, the joys of menstruation—a time when about half the population gets to enjoy the monthly spectacle of cramps, bloating, and mood swings, all while society pretends it’s some delicate secret. You’d think that by now, with all our technological advancements, we could have moved past the awkwardness and outdated taboos, but no. We’re still stuck watching tampon commercials with baffling blue liquids and hearing whispers about “that time of the month,” as though menstruation is something shameful rather than a normal bodily function. Periods are messy, uncomfortable, and downright expensive. Between the “luxury” pricing of menstrual products (because, of course, bleeding once a month should come with a tax) and the general inconvenience of it all, it’s no wonder so many people are frustrated.
