It’s Spring again, and so I am thrilled to welcome you to the second issue of the html review, an annual journal of literature made to exist on the web. When Shelby and I started the html review last year, we thought it would be a small experimental project among friends, something only a few people ever saw. Instead, thousands of you visited, read, and reached out to us. This interest was not a consequence of a concerted PR strategy or algorithmic amplification, but the result of readers simply sharing something they liked within their own networks, often through literal word of mouth. We are forever grateful for your time and care. The inaugural issue will of course stay live, complete with its beautiful table of contents so many of you love, and we hope you will continue to enjoy it even as we expand each year.
