Modelled loosely after UNC’s chaotic, heartfelt and nothing short of legendary EATS 101, this salon is an evening to sit around a table, share food, and let our ideas about food collide. We’ll talk about how what we eat ties us to who we are: our families, our childhoods, our migrations and how modern pressures around ‘clean eating,’ optimization, and globalized nutrition advice slowly reshape our sense of what counts as good, healthy, or even real food. We’ll reference Eat Drink Man Woman, Bee Wilson, Michael Pollan, and a few cultural anthropologists, but the real point is to look at how all these ideas land in our own lives.
