Walker Afferent and efferent neurons refers to different types of neurons that make up the sensory and motor divisions of the peripheral nervous system, respectively. Neurons are electrically excitable cells that serve as the structural and functional unit of the nervous system. A typical neuron is composed of a cell body, which contains all of the cell’s organelles, and nerve fibers, which extend out from the cell body and include the dendrites and axon.
