“9th of March, 1884 More pillars today and the fog is less dense. It begins to feel like we are sailing through a maze of broken cliffs. They are overgrown with grass and I clearly saw some puffins nesting on the rock.  Even more interesting was the giant tentacle we saw earlier today, lazily floating through the giant kelp that grows between the cliffs. I went up on deck to catch some air tonight and I swear I saw women swimming through the kelp right underneath the old Clairy, their ghostly faces looking at me! Am I loosing my mind? 10th of March, 1884 If I really saw them, the women in the water pale in comparison to what we saw today. The mist is getting lighter with each day now and when we looked starboard this morning, we saw a huge, black creature sitting on a rock pillar not far off ship.
