Since the idea of awards and collective recognition in our early days, I feel like I’m seeing a dangerous renaissance of ego and how we poorly interact with each other in our defining decade. There’s this race to become the best, to be the best at your craft, demeanor, appearance, and thoughts. I’m seeing misaligned individualism and contrarianism to a point where I question if people are saying and doing things not because they actually believe it, but so they can heighten their self-worth. But what upsets me most about ego running rampant among peers is its excuse to look down on others through a newly found presence and power. Here’s my piece of the story.
