Kirk was answering a question from the audience about mass shootings and gun violence when the bullet hit him. As public as his death was — footage of Kirk being shot spread across platforms like X and Reddit immediately, with algorithms thoughtlessly promoting the grisly videos to millions of users — we still know very little about the shooter and the motive.
